Not Too Much News

This will be a shorter newsletter as I do not have too much news to share, but I figured I’d share what I did have because I miss y’all. Oh, and I have new character art to share! So read til the end to see that ;)

I’ve been dealing with a lot of health issues and recently got good(ish) news. I’ll be undergoing the first of several necessary surgeries next month! So, in the meantime, I’ve mostly just been working as much as possible to save up for the costs associated with it. And even though I will mostly be bed-bound, I am really excited for the week off I’ll be getting for the surgery! Last time I took time off of work was in June and it was the week of the release of The Stars Want Blood, so I was mostly in panic mode for the week and didn’t relax much. So, it’ll be nice to laze around.

It’s been so much fun to watch TSWB existing in the world! It’s gotten a couple of orange banners, reviews that made me so emotional that I cried, and more attention than I could have ever imagined.

I’ve had a lot of people asking me where the fuck book two is. As of right now, I am planning to have it released next fall. It’ll be my Virgo baby. Right this second, I am not working very much on it. The sophomore slump hit me hard and I have a lot of complicated feelings about the series so I do have it on pause right now for my own mental health. My plan is to spend this fall writing it and letting betas at it during the winter months. So, keep an eye on my socials later this year for snippets and such!

Book Covers

I’ve been spending a lot of time trying to learn how to make book covers. Mostly because I’d like to start creating my own for my books. The cover artist for The Stars Want Blood did a more incredible job than I could put into words, but I figured if I could learn how to do it myself, I could save myself a lot of money in the future! As I learn, I will be putting together covers than can be purchased at a reasonable cost as a premade! I’ve gone off of the deep end with a new WIP. It’s placeholder name is Above Snakes WIP. It follows the story of Ever, a mechanic from an impoverished underground city-state, and her reuniting with a long-lost friend, Jaxon who is now… a cyborg cop for the above ground utopia!?
